Angels are the servants of the Lord, and the bible is full of their deeds. From the angel with the flaming sword who guards the gates of Eden, to the angels who deliver messages to those who need to hear them, these strange beings are everywhere. Angels are not like people, but that isn't because of their strange powers or unusual (sometimes terrifying) appearances. It is because they were not made as people were.
Why Are Angels Different Than People in God's Eyes?
Man was made from the dust of the earth, and in the image of his creator, according to scripture. Angels were not. Angels are beings of spirit, and though they can take on flesh, that is not their natural state. Additionally, angels do not live on earth, and are not held to the same standards as people are. They live in heaven, and act according to god's will. People have free will, as well as the knowledge of good and evil. It is implied that angels do not have these things; they hear, and obey. They do not choose to be what they are, the way that people can.
Additionally, people are considered god's finest creation. While angels are powerful, and capable of truly terrifying shows of force, it is people who will be raised above them in heaven, according to Evidence For Christianity. While we may fall, and commit acts of malice or evil, redemption is unique among mankind.
